create & do at bake-a-boo

For 2010 we have launched ‘create & do’ at bake-a-boo. A series of morning and evening based workshops hosted by bake-a-boo, a range for adults and for children.

We have collaborated with some talented and unique individuals, choosing to work with other people from small businesses like ours and independent crafters who will host wonderful workshops where people can come to bake-a-boo and ‘create’ and ‘do’ and learn something new, and perhaps meet new people whilst enjoying tea and cakes, served by bake-a-boo during each workshop.

We have introduced a range of different activities and hope that you may find something that you have ‘always wanted to learn’ or something that you will be inspired to try.

Thursday 11^th March  – 7pm-9:30pm

‘hollywood glamour’ – Mother’s Day Special hair & makeup evening with the lipstick & curls girls!

With Amanda & Natasha of Lipstick & Curls

The talented twosome will teach you how to achieve the ultimate in golden age glamour, with a full vintage hair and makeup master class. Learn to create the classic Hollywood starlet look, with a simple glamorous up do. The girls will demonstrate the look and guide you whilst you practice creating the look yourself. Perhaps attend the workshop with your Mother as part of your Mother’s Day celebrations?

£45 per person – Includes use of the girls supplies during the workshop, a glass of fizz with nibbles & mini cakes

Mother’s day flower arranging workshop – With Liz Inigo Jones of blue sky flowers

Isn’t your mum worth a few hours of your time creating a special bouquet? She will love the personal touch and you will get to eat cake and have fun! Attend this workshop alone to create a wonderful surprise workshop, or why not attend the workshop with your Mother and make it part of your Mother’s Day celebration?

£45 per person – Includes use of all tools and materials, flowers to take home & tea/coffee with cake

‘The Marilyn Look’ -Vintage styling hair & makeup evening with the lipstick & curls girls!

The talented twosome will teach you how to achieve the ultimate in golden age glamour, with a full vintage hair and makeup master class. Learn to create the classic Marilyn look that every girl dreams of! This is a fabulously girly evening where the girls will demonstrate all you need to know and you will then have time to practice and perfect the look with guidance from the girls who will share their expertise with you. All whilst enjoying a glass of fizz and yummy cakes, what more could a girl want?

Easter knitting for beginners

With Claire of ‘make do mend’

The ‘menders are really looking forward to teaching you how to knit cute egg cosies just in time for a whimsical and truly unique Easter gift. A great class for beginners, those who have just started to knit, are rusty or even just fancy making cute cosies to keep their Easter Sunday boiled eggs warm while they take them up to breakfast in bed for a loved one. Learn to knit, purl, cast on, cast off and to make cosies which you can then decorate as you wish, using buttons and embellishments provided. Tea and cake will be served during the workshop.

£30 per person – Includes all materials and tea and cakes

Easter flower arranging workshop

With Liz Inigo Jones of blue sky flowers

Come a make a floral display for your Easter table and create a small gift for visiting guests. Just bring your green fingers, everything else will be provided including tea and cake

£45 per person – Includes all materials and tools, and flowers to take home, as well as tea and cakes

Easter Holiday children’s cupcake decorating workshop

With Xanthe

Enjoy a laid back afternoon getting messy with icing and sprinkles, every child will get two cupcakes to decorate with a range of icing colours and sprinkles. They will then decorate a cake box with glitter, stickers and sequins to take their cakes home

£10 per child – Includes all materials, a sandwich, mini cake and a drink
